Tinto

This past weekend I enjoyed one of the tastiest brunches I have ever had! Surprisingly, it was found in Philadelphia at Jose Garces’ Tinto, which features tapas-style plates from the Basque region. On weekends they offer a $25 three-course brunch that was truly unforgettable! Be sure to try Jose’s version of egg benedict with a thin serrano ham and truffled hollandaise sauce and order the dessert of fresh grapefruit brulee with a side of olive oil gelato! Trust me….

Hassan Massoudy

I believe that Contemporary Middle Eastern art has the potential to completely capitivate the art world and will only continue to grow in popularity! I find the work stunning and powerful. The work of contemporary calligraphers is particularly beautiful as the script is truly art in itself. See the work of talented Hassan Massoudy below:Hassan MassoudyHassan Massoudy

Double Club

March 4, 2009

Located in the East End of London right outside of the Angel tube station, this new restaurant/nightclub is attracting lots of buzz. Wander down a small alley of industrial steel workshops and you will find the non-descript (although the crowd of people will be the clear indication) entrance to Double Club. The project was created by Fondazione Prada with German artist Carsten Holler. Their vision was to create a temporary restaurant, bar, and dance club space that would ‘pop up’ for only 6 months. The interior walls are covered with vibrant works from both Western and Congolese artists, side by side, which makes for a fun and interesting atmopshere.

Double Club is a non-for-profit with all profits from the temporary club going to the City of Joy charity which is dedicated to helping abused women and children in the Congo.  Is there any better reason to party?

Katsuya

I love sushi!  I’ve tried it almost everywhere and have to admit that however trendy and cool Katsuya is, it also manages to do an incredible job at serving fresh and creative sushi! The Phillip Starke designed environment only adds to the enjoyment of the meal.

Please don’t leave without ordering the yellowtail sashimi with jalapeno (much better than Nobu’s), crisy rice with spicy tuna, and the special shrimp albacore roll (it has garlic chips and truffle oil) – tasty!
