Frjtz Fries
May 9, 2009
This creative-take on a Belgian fries, crepes, and beer restaurant, Frjtz Fries, located in the Mission area (with a newly opened location in Hayes Valley) of San Francisco has a fun design and wonderful bites. Fries are served in a giant cone and ordered either with truffle oil or plain and with or without garlic – could there be any better options? Why yes…there are nearly 14 different dipping sauces for you to explore ranging from Thai chili to white truffle artichoke ketchup to strawberry mustard to pesto mayo. The restaurant has been designed by San Francisco-based architecture firm YA Studio and features stark white designs contrasted with indoor wall plants and gardens. So place your order, grab a beer, and maybe even learn a new language while in the bathroom (they play audio tapes ranging from beginner Chinese to Italian)…

Ferry Building
March 25, 2009
Located on the waterfront in the Embarcadero of San Francisco, the Ferry Building houses gourmet artisan cafes, grocers, and restaurants. Here are two of my personal favorites: The Slanted Door, an incredible modern Vietnamese restaurant featuring organic cuisine and Cowgirl Creamery, a gourmet cheese shop (please try Red Hawk and Mt. Tam)! There is an outside farmer’s market on Tuesday/Saturday! Stop by for fresh fare, delicious food, and beautiful bay views!
